EMMA Systems, Rheinberry unveil I-AEM airport vision

EMMA Systems and partner Rheinberry, announced the release of a new industry vision introducing Integrated Airport Experience Management (I-AEM), a next-generation operational framework designed to help airports manage operations around the passenger journey rather than isolated functions.

The whitepaper identifies the core challenges facing airports today: while operational departments often perform efficiently on their own, passengers experience the airport as one continuous flow.

This structural mismatch can lead to friction, delays, and inconsistent service even when individual systems operate correctly.

I-AEM addresses this by aligning decisions across all stakeholders and operational domains, enabling real-time coordination, predictive planning, and proactive disruption management.

By integrating data across systems and linking processes through shared milestones, airports can move from reactive response models to orchestrated operations that protect service continuity and passenger satisfaction.

A key foundation of I-AEM is a real-time operational data fabric combined with a Passenger Digital Twin, providing stakeholders with shared situational awareness and the ability to anticipate bottlenecks, personalise services, and optimise decision-making across the journey.

The report also highlights virtualisation as a strategic opportunity. Once passenger flows are standardised and digitised, certain operational functions such as monitoring, planning, analytics, and coordination can be performed remotely without disrupting flow integrity.

This distributed operating model can significantly reduce costs, improve resilience, and accelerate innovation across airport networks.

The whitepaper concludes that airports are at a strategic inflection point, as rising expectations and increasing operational complexity expose the limits of fragmented management.

I-AEM provides a scalable path forward by enabling airports to operate as coordinated, passenger-centric systems rather than disconnected functional units. -TradeArabia News Service
