Bahrain's tourism industry suffered an estimated BD1 billion ($2.65 billion) blow as a result of the outbreak of Covid-19 and the restrictions put in place, according to a report in the Gulf Daily News, our sister newspaper. The sector has suffered a loss of BD108 million per month over the last nine months, it said quoting Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed Alzayani.
