Gulf Air 'working to stabilise operation' after disruption

Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, said today that the airline's team is working round the clock to stabilise its operation, bringing back its schedule to normalcy.

The airline faced flight disruptions yesterday due to a shortage of pilots, media reports said.

"Gulf Air apologises for the recent flight disruptions and cancellations and for any inconvenience this has caused to our valued passengers," the airline said in a statement.

"The Gulf Air team has been working round the clock to stabilise the operation, bringing back our schedule stability," the carrier said.

"Contrary to what has been recently circulated in the media, no passengers were stranded in airports as Gulf Air teams ensured all passengers were given alternative travel solutions within the same day," the carrier said.

Less than 2 per cent of Gulf Air's flights were cancelled during February and 1 per cent of 0.5 million passengers in February was affected by these cancellations, it said.

All affected passengers were re-accommodated on alternative Gulf Air flights or on other airlines, ensuring they reach their final destination, it added. - TradeArabia News Service.
