Kuwait's ring road project 27pc completed

The work linked to construction and maintenance of roads and intersections on the Seventh Ring Road was progressing at a steady pace with nearly 27 per cent of the project already completed, said a report.

On completion, the 21.8-km-long Seventh Ring Road will link the Fahaheel Expressway to the nearest part of Kabad, reported Arab Times, citing a top official.

Director General of the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport Engineer Ahmad Al Hessan said execution of the road had been consistent and in line with the schedule.

The project has been designed with necessary infrastructure, ornamental plants and a chain of trees on both sides for beautification, explained Al Hessan.

It is a six-lane design with three lanes on each side, while a fourth lane will be added to each side in future along with truck relaxation service areas and pedestrian bridges, he added.
