American Express Middle East has introduced contactless payment technology across cards issued starting from July 2019 onwards, aimed at offering the latest in convenience for all its Cardmembers.

Using forefront technology, and continuing its pursuit of using innovation to best serve its Cardmembers at all times, contactless payment cards will be rolled out across all MENA markets.

Hamad Hassani, head of Consumer Cards for American Express Middle East said: “The introduction of contactless card payment is just another example of how American Express Middle East is providing its powerful backing to our Cardmembers, using innovation and technology to provide the best possible service.”

“Our new contactless cards will simply make the process of purchasing goods and paying for services that much easier, and of course quicker. Wherever Cardmembers are in the world, especially our customers who travel extensively, they will simply be able to touch their American Express Middle East card on the payment terminal and complete their transaction with a simple tap, pay and go.

“As customers today look for the ideal shopping experience, we are giving them greater freedom with speed, simplicity and flexibility. And all transactions are also just as secure as ever, protected by the usual American Express Fraud Protection Guarantees, and supported by the existing Chip & PIN system which will also remain as a payment option,” he added.
