Emirates, Qatar Airways among top 5 safest airlines worldwide

LONDON, January 5, 2021

Dubai-based Emirates and Qatar Airways have been ranked among the top five safest airlines in the world for 2021 by AirlineRatings.com, the world’s only safety, product, and Covid-19 rating website.
 
In making its evaluation of the safest airlines in the world, AirlineRatings.com takes into account a comprehensive range of factors that include: airline’s crash and serious incident record, audits from aviation’s governing and industry bodies, government audits, industry-leading safety initiatives, and fleet age.
 
Qatar Airways claimed the second spot and Emirates came in fifth place. Once again, Australian carrier Qantas took pole position, while Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines took the third and fourth spot, respectively.
 
In selecting Qantas as the world’s safest airline for 2021,  AirlineRatings.com editors noted that over its 100-year history the world’s oldest continuously operating airline has amassed a truly amazing record of firsts in operations and safety and is now accepted as the industry’s most experienced airline.

According to AirlineRatings.com Editor-in-Chief Geoffrey Thomas, these airlines are standouts in the industry and are at the forefront of safety, innovation, and launching of new aircraft.
 
Separately, AirlineRatings also spotlighted the safest low cost airlines, listing the top 10 in alphabetical order. They are Air Arabia, Allegiant, EasyJet, Frontier, Jetstar Group, Jetblue, Ryanair, Vietjet, Westjet, and Wizz Air. - TradeArabia News Service
