Oman resumes issuing of tourist visas

MUSCAT, December 1, 2020

Oman has resumed the issuing of tourist visas after an eight-month hiatus following the spread the Covid-19, said a report.

The decision was announced on November 29 by the Supreme Committee, said a report in Times of Oman.

Hotels and travel agents have welcomed the Sultanate’s decision to once again issue tourist visas, saying it will provide a needed boost to their businesses, which have been strongly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the decision, tourists will be allowed only to come through groups organised by hotels and tourism companies, the report said.

Oman had stopped issuing all types of visas in March this year.
