Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman continues to lead the hotel occupancy rate in Northern Emirates, achieving an average occupancy of 92 per cent for the year, surpassing its 2014 figures of 89 per cent. 

A top-performing hotel for the past five years, the 388-key property enjoyed high occupancy throughout the year, averaging as high as 90 per cent even during the summer season. The hotel’s revenue-per-available-room (RevPAR) also increased by 7 per cent compared to 2014.  The property sold a total of 129,000 room nights in 2015, surpassing the 2014’s record of 125,000.

Iftikhar Hamdani, general manager of the hotel, said: “2015 has been a great year for us and we are positive that 2016 will bring us better results. New segments and markets have been signed to attract more tourist arrivals in Ajman and we are diligently working hand-in-hand with Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) to boost tourism in our emirate.” 

The hotel welcomed a total of 150 nationalities for the year 2015, which is topped by the Indian market with 14 per cent of the total mix, and followed by Russians, Pakistanis and UAE nationals, each with 8 per cent of the share. The property also welcomed different sports teams from Asia and Middle East, contributing to its excellent hotel performance for the year.

Hamdani adds, “We aim to maintain the arrivals from Indian and Pakistani markets through additional road shows and visits, as these can generate significant impacts on how we’ll fare in 2016.”

Expanding its market reach, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman is also looking at strengthening its presence in the CIS, Germany, Turkey and East Europe, specifically Lithuania and Poland.

R Hotels, the owning company of both Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman and Ramada Beach Hotel Ajman, recently announced the construction of a 182-key property in Ajman Corniche, confirming the increasing demand of hotel rooms in the emirate. – TradeArabia News Service
