DUBAI, October 21, 2015

Turkish Airlines, Turkey’s national carrier, is offering residents of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE special fares to Turkey's most historic city Istanbul for travel between November 1 and March 31.

The airline’s discounted offer, available for purchase until October 31, will encourage tourists to travel for business or leisure, and experience the wonders of the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace, in addition to the joys of Turkish cuisine and life along the stunning Bosphorus River, said a statement.

Base fares from the UAE start at Dh1,224 ($333); from Kuwait at KD69 ($228); in Qatar at QR1,540 ($442); in Saudi Arabia from SR957 ($255), from Oman at RO148.5 ($384), in Bahrain at BD110 ($289). Turkish Airlines offers travellers direct flights to Istanbul from all the GCC countries.

Adem Ceylan, vice president, Sales, Middle East and Cyprus, Turkish Airlines, said: “This timely campaign allows GCC travelers to see a whole new side of Istanbul. A unique city, Istanbul is truly beautiful in the autumn and winter months, when it is cooler and less crowded.

"By offering our valued customers a special incentive, we are allowing visitors to have a genuine Turkish experience in a city which is culturally familiar to them.”

Istanbul is becoming an increasingly popular travel destination for GCC travelers, who are known to like short-medium haul destinations for holidays throughout the year, said a statement.

With the GCC region contributing up to five per cent of Turkey’s tourism revenue, the country continues to see strong year-on-year growth in GCC visitors, according to the Turkish Consulate General Cultural and Information Office. - TradeArabia News Service
