Airport in Jazan, Abha, Arar....to meet growing passenger traffic.

Saudi Arabia poised to build three new airports

RIYADH, January 16, 2015

Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) is set to build three new airports in Jazan, Abha and Arar, as part of efforts to meet the demand of growing passenger traffic, according to a report.

Prince Fahd bin Abdullah, president of GACA, revealed this as he inspected the progress of work at the King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, said the Arab News report.

About 50 per cent of work has been completed on the new terminal. Following completion of the work, the airport’s passenger handling capacity will rise to about 36 million annually, three times more than the current capacity, it added.
