Turkish Airlines posts $607m Q3 profit

ISTANBUL, November 11, 2014

Turkey’s national carrier Turkish Airlines made a net profit of TRY1.37 billion ($607.42 million) in the third quarter of 2014 on the back of increased revenues.

The airline said that revenues rose 33 per cent in the first nine months of the year to TRY18.4 billion ($8.14 billion) while net profit stood at TRY1.37 billion for the third quarter and TRY1.54 billion ($683.52 million) for the first nine months of the year.

The airline carried 41.4 million passengers in the first nine months, up 14 per cent over the same period last year. Available seat kilometres (ASK) and revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) increased by 17 per cent each. Its cargo operations meanwhile grew 20 per cent over the same period to 491,000 tonnes of cargo in the first nine months of 2014.

Turkish Airlines flies to 45 domestic and 219 international destinations in 108 countries worldwide. – TradeArabia News Service
