Emirates denies plans to end A380 India service

MUMBAI, September 17, 2014

Dubai-based Emirates airline has denied media reports that it was planning to withdraw its Airbus A380 plane from Indian routes.

The airline is flying the superjumbo between Dubai in the UAE and the Indian financial capital Mumbai.

"A380 (aircraft) is here to stay...We have the approvals from the authorities," Emirates vice president for India and Nepal, Essa Sulaiman Ahmad was quoted as saying by Firstpost website.

Ahmad's comments came after some newspapers said the airline may suspend its A380 operations to India.

He said that A380 was a flagship product for the Emirates and has received a wide acceptance from the customers all over.
