Hotel Show to focus on hospitality training

Dubai, August 24, 2014

The Hotel Show Dubai, in partnership with Glion Institute of Higher Education Switzerland (GIHE), will focus on education and training at this year’s event to highlight the core principles of training and development.

The event, which will be held from September 28 to 30 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, will allow hospitality professionals from across the world to learn more about Glion’s graduate programmes (from postgraduate diplomas to fully flexible online MBAs) and additional training opportunities to meet the range of levels and experience required by the region’s hospitality industry, a statement said.

With Dubai experiencing huge growth in hotel and hospitality, continuing education, staff development, retention, recruitment, HR and new training techniques are key to the sustainability of the hospitality industry in the region.  Both the Hotel Show Dubai and Glion are committed to meeting the specific industry needs and opportunities afforded to the region with Expo 2020 in Dubai, it said.

“The region’s industry is set to experience unprecedented growth - more than 280,000 new jobs will be created in Dubai alone where 40 per cent will be allocated for the travel and hospitality industry -   and with it the need for ongoing training and development,” said Christine Davidson, event director.

The show’s ‘Dubai Careers and Training Networking Workshops’ at the ‘Eye Live’ launch stage will provide a feature area for visitors to not only meet prospective employers, but also network with trade associations and training academies, as well as Glion, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
