US hip-hop group features at Bahrain fest

Brooklyn-based hip-hop outfit “Chen Lo and the Lo Frequency” will take to the stage for the second time today (July 16) as part of Bahrain Summer Festival’s lineup of performances.
During the first show on Friday, the band entertained the audience with a live mix of global rhythms drawn from the worlds of hip-hop, jazz, blues, kwaito, soul, rock, R&B, afro-beats, and pop.
The band is widely known for its artistic flair and passion for humanitarianism which are evident in its art. Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, the six-member group was formed in 2007 by rapper Chen Lo and has since performed on major TV networks and music shows such as MTV and the CMJ Music Festival.
The Ministry of Culture has moved two upcoming shows - percussion specialists “The Dhol Foundation” (July 18 at 8 pm) and “Georgian Legend: Samaia’s Little Virtuosos” presenting Georgian traditional dance (July 25 and 26 at 7 pm) by a group of Georgian youngsters - to the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Center.
Both shows remain free to the public with tickets distributed at the venue on a first-come first-served basis. – TradeArabia News Service
