Armani hotel opens in Burj Khalifa

Dubai, April 27, 2010

The 160-room Armani Hotel Dubai, the world’s first hotel developed by Armani Hotels & Resorts and the first hotel under the collaboration between Dubai developer Emaar Properties and Giorgio Armani, has opened in Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower.

An integral component of Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower, every element of the Armani Hotel Dubai has been personally designed by global fashion legend, Giorgio Armani, a statement said.

“I wanted something very important, something to be remembered,” Armani was quoted as saying.

“Something not just for the present, but beyond.”

“My ambition for Armani Hotel Dubai – the first of a collection of Armani hotels, resorts and residences that will soon circle the world – is to celebrate comfort and style by providing the highest standards of design, hospitality and service,” Armani added.

“The hotel brings together two global competencies – the project management capabilities of Emaar and the superior aesthetics defined by Giorgio Armani,” said Mohamed Alabbar, chairman, Emaar Properties.

Armani Hotel Dubai will be home to eight unique dining experiences. The hotel will also include Armani/Privé, an upscale lounge, and the world’s first in-hotel Armani/SPA, which offers 12,000 sq ft of wellness, where guests can enjoy treatment rooms, thermal suites, a fitness centre and an outdoor swimming pool.

The hotel will be home to the Armani/Dolci chocolates store; an Armani/Fiori, a florist; and an Armani/Galleria showcasing select couture accessories.

Covering over an area of 269,000 sq ft, across the concourse, the Armani hotel, which opened as the first tenant in Burj Khalifa, occupies ground floor and levels 1 to 8 and levels 38 & 39 of Burj Khalifa.
