United Airlines begins Dubai–Washington service

Dubai, October 28, 2008

United Airlines has launched its new non-stop daily service from Dubai to Washington DC.

From Washington Dulles, customers can then fly on to over 80 destinations across the US, Canada and the Caribbean, including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and San Francisco.

United’s Washington hub offers over 200 daily flights to destinations across the US.  It is also a key point for many United international flights serving the airport from destinations around the world.

'United's new direct service between Dubai and Washington, DC is a very welcome new option in travel between the UAE and the United States.  It also serves to confirm the growing importance of Dubai as a destination, and as a regional and global hub that is being used by an increasing number of American travelers,' stated US consul general for Dubai, Paul Sutphin.

“It is an important development not just for Dubai Airports and United, but also for the hundreds of thousands of people who travel between Washington, the political capital of the world’s largest economy, and Dubai, the commercial capital of the UAE and an international hub for business and trade,” added Paul Griffiths, Dubai Airports CEO.

“This new route further strengthens our presence in the Middle East by providing customers with a second daily service from the region,” said Scott Dolan, United’s senior vice president Airport Operations, Cargo and United Express.

“The growing commerce between the United States and Middle East creates new revenue opportunities for the company,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
