Dubai, April 25, 2013

Leading hypermarket brand in the GCC, Gulfmart, has opened its first store within the UAE, as part of the growth strategy of its Dubai-based owner Retail Global company to open several more stores across the region this year.

The hypermarket, which occupies an area of 6000 sq m, recently opened in Sharjah on the main Al Arouba Street, in the presence of a large number of customers and executives from Retail Global including Mohammed Ashfaq, group business head; Yvan Baba, country head and Yasir Arfat, operation manager.

Currently operating nearly 20 stores within Kuwait and Bahrain, Gulfmart has been the shopping destination of choice for customers of all nationalities, a statement from the brand said. The store in Sharjah marks the first of many such planned units, within UAE.

“We are happy to launch this new hypermarket concept in the UAE in Sharjah, which is home to people from different cultures and backgrounds,” Ashfaq said. “As a very important brand within our portfolio, Gulfmart enables us to reach a wider customer base through targeted promotions specifically for our core customers.”

“We spend a lot of time understanding our customer needs and based on their feedback, we respond accordingly with specific products on shelves and promotions. We are confident that the Gulfmart concept will be a huge success within the UAE.”

Gulfmart Sharjah is a double storey store covering over 6000 sq m, and offering an extensive range of products. It is stocked with a wide variety fresh fruits and vegetables, choicest meat-cuts at the butchery, fresh fish, as well as a fabulous selection of cheese and cold-cuts, the statement said.

Additionally, the store contains the latest and trendiest collection in garments, furniture for every type of house, and the widest selection of consumer electronics. – TradeArabia News Service
