India firm launches Android phone in UAE

Micromax Informatics, a leading India-based mobile handsets company, has launched its Android-powered phone, the A60 Andro, in the UAE.

With the launch of the Android 2.1 device, Micromax aims to transform the Android devices market for the Indian consumers, providing customers a new technology device that will have interplay on the mobile internet platform readily operable in HSDPA, a statement said.

The Micromax A60 is Android 2.1 device features a 7.112 cm display full touch screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and 65K color display and is powered by a 600 MHz processor, it added.

It has varied applications including GPS for location tracking or turn-by-turn directions, Wi-Fi, compass, Bluetooth 2.1 and proximity sensor, among others.

The phone, which also has a 3.2 MP camera, comes with connectivity options such USB 2.0 and is supported by various sound formats including AMR-WB, WAV, MP3, iMelody and Midi Ringtone.

A60 Andro has an accelerator sensor which allows users to show off content in portrait or landscape orientation with every turn. It has a 150 MB internal memory and supports a 32GB external Micro SD card. – TradeArabia News Service
