A new land rig has been inaugurated by the National Drilling Company (NDC) as part of the company’s fleet expansion programme.

The new rig will help the company to step-up its ability to perform specific drilling operations that require the availability of rigs of various horsepower capabilities, a report said.

"NDC is committed to sustainable progress and continuous growth. Significant achievements were made in the expansion of the company's fleet and the development of quality and multiplicity of services offered by NDC to meet the increase in demand for drilling services, and strengthen the company's readiness and capability for performing all types of drilling operations with complete efficiency and competency," a Wam report quoted NDC chief executive officer Abdalla Saeed Al Suwaidi as saying.

Al Suwaidi also said that NDC doubled the number of its rigs in the last four years from 28 in 2009 to 58 rigs, it said. – TradeArabia News Service
