Bahrain ID Card centres to open on Saturdays to ease rush

MANAMA, July 12, 2019

Bahrain's Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) will be opening the identity card centres at Isa Town and Muharraq (Seef Mall) for an extra day every week on Saturdays to cater to the rush from Bahraini nationals to update their chips’ data.

Nationals looking to update their data should visit the National Portal bahrain.bh to book an appointment, and ensure that all the necessary documents are in hand before visiting the centre, said the statement from iGA.

The branches will continue operating as per their regular hours during the rest of the week, from Sunday to Wednesday (7am to 6pm), and on Thursday (7am to 2:30pm).

Starting from July 13, Bahraini nationals will be able to update their chips’ data during the centers’ working hours from 8am to 2pm, it stated.

The change is in accordance with the directives of Minister of Interior, Lt. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to provide distinguished services to citizens, said the statement.

It is aimed at reducing congestion of Bahrainis during one of the busiest seasons for travel, pilgrimage, graduation, housing services and other activities, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
