UAE, Jordan partner on govt excellence system

ABU DHABI, November 5, 2017

The governments of the United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan have signed an agreement allowing the latter to embed the UAE's Government Excellent System - 4G.

The agreement also provides for strengthening partnership, sharing expertise, best practices and knowledge, and joint coordination in government processes, reported Wam, the Emirates official news agency.

The agreement was signed by Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future and Majd Shweikeh, Jordanian Minister of Public Sector Development and member of the board of trustees of the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence (KACE).

The signing was attended by Ohoud bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness and Wellbeing, Mariam Al Hammadi, Assistant Director General for Government Performance and Excellence and members of a high level Jordanian delegation.

Al Gergawi said the Government of the UAE, led by the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, believes in the importance of knowledge partnership for enriching the development process.

He described the agreement as an extension to the excellent relations between the two countries and reflects the UAE's keenness to share its pioneering successful models with the governments of brotherly and friendly countries.

Majd Shweikeh applauded UAE's experience in developing government performance. She stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries in all fields related to government sectors development, as well as sharing success stories.

A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Programme and KACE, to apply the Government Excellent System - 4G, in the entities of the Jordanian Government.
