Mazola eyes expansion into non-retail sector

Mazola, one of the pioneers of healthy and quality food products in the Middle East, plans to expand its business into the growing non-retail sector, a top official said.

After starting the year with the Product of the Year Award, the brand participated in the recently concluded Saudi Food, Hotel & Hospitality Arabia (SFHHA) in Jeddah.

SFHHA is the biggest food, hotel and hospitality event in Saudi Arabia. The 20th edition saw the involvement of importers, distributors, F&B managers, hotel and restaurant purchase managers, food service professionals, chefs, purchasers, trade bodies, hoteliers, restaurateurs, caterers, F&B directors, hospitality interiors and wholesalers.

“Our aim is make the most of Saudi Food, Hotel & Hospitality Arabia 2015 and promote our HoReCa range of products, which includes edible oils, ghee, mayonnaise and specialty B2B items,” said Simon Gottfried, vice president – Sales and Marketing of Basateen Foods Saudi Arabia – the brand owners of Mazola in the Mena region in a statement.

“The event is the perfect platform for professionals to come together and explore new business opportunities. And it is a golden opportunity for us to expand our business in the KSA regions and international markets as well,” he added.

Recent studies have shown that Saudi Arabia will continue to lead the region's food sector, accounting for 59 per cent of the total consumption up until 2017. Meanwhile, food sales in Saudi Arabia are expected to be worth almost $70 billion by 2016.

The Saudi hospitality sector has recorded a significant 127 per cent growth over the last decade. – TradeArabia News Service
