New ENBD initiative tests amateur golf skills

DUBAI, December 1, 2015

Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the region, has launched a unique putting competition that will test golf skills of amateur players.

The Emirates NBD Million Dirham Putt campaign, which is organised in conjunction with the bank’s sponsorship of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters and the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, is designed to attract new audiences with a fun and inclusive golfing experience.

Commencing this week, participants will have the opportunity to enter at JBR-The Beach and at both Tournament Villages. This unique putting competition will test amateur skill and beginners luck, participants will putt their way around a specially designed putting green for the lowest score possible. Daily champions will progress to one of two play-offs hosted on the final day of each tournament.

Both final tournament putting champions will go head-to-head in one last 6-hole contest held on February 7, the final day of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. The ultimate champion will earn the opportunity to make a tricky 60ft putt to win the Million Dirhams cash prize in front of thousands of viewers, on the 9th green of the world-renowned Majlis Course.

If the putt is missed he or she will still win the prize of a round of golf with one of the Tour’s rising stars and Golf in Dubai Ambassador, Matthew Fitzpatrick.

This is the 26th year that Emirates NBD has sponsored the Dubai Desert Classic. The bank has also sponsored the Dubai Ladies Masters since its inception. It is in line with the bank’s commitment to engage the wider Dubai community in the great game of golf. – TradeArabia News Service
