Broadpeak to showcase its new solution at Cabsat

DUBAI, February 17, 2015

Broadpeak, a leading provider of content delivery network (CDN) and video streaming technologies, will showcase its new solutions  at Cabsat 2015, to take place in Dubai next month.

It will demonstrate how its CDB and streaming server equipment can be used by content providers and operators to support new business model in today’s challenging multiscreen environment, said a statement.

It will showcase a range of game-changing solutions that can be deployed in the network, in the home or on the go, it said.

In the network, Broadpeak has always supported a software-based approach to video delivery, enabling operators to take advantage of the extensive benefits offered by virtualisation including decreased hardware costs, resource optimisation, increased flexibility and simplified administration.

It will provide operators with comprehensive multiscreen technologies; cloud PVR TV capabilities; high-performance unified streaming servers; fast channel change technologies for live IPTV services; and the umbrella CDN selection solution.

In the home, Broadpeak’s nanoCDN technology will enable operators to extend their CDN into the home network, leveraging equipment present in the home such as broadband gateways or set-top boxes (STBs).

The nanoCDN now supports four applications, including multicast ABR for live multiscreen delivery; video transparent caching; VOD pre-caching; and multiscreen over satellite.

On the go, Broadpeak will demonstrate how the CDN can be extended to the base station by deploying nanoCDN technology onto a mobile edge computing platform, with the rapid deployment of 4G/LTE networks, delivering high-quality video to crowded areas, which is now possible.

Jacques Le Mancq, chief executive officer, said: “Broadpeak has a very strong portfolio of carrier class CDN (content delivery network) and streaming server technology products.

“We are excited to showcase them at CABSAT  and to offer MENA content providers and operators solutions to help them support new business models in today’s challenging multiscreen environment.” - TradeArabia News Service
