Fares ..... I’m looking forward to meeting all my fans and sharing the best moments with them

Lebanese singing sensation to headline Abu Dhabi event

ABU DHABI, December 3, 2014

Myriam Fares, the Lebanese singing sensation, will headline ‘Jalsah Live’ the traditional ‘majlis’ music gathering and will perform at the unique Skyline Stage built into the waters of Abu Dhabi Corniche as part of the city’s Volvo Ocean Race (VOR) Stopover programme.

The event will take place on December 26 at the Abu Dhabi Corniche, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Myriam, who’s one of the biggest social media sensations in the region with over 10 million Facebook likes and 2 million Twitter followers, will be joined on stage by the 24-year-old Yemeni star, Fouad Abdel Wahid who sprang to fame as a winner of the Abu Dhabi TV competition ‘Gulf Star.’

The dynamic music duo will perform on the incredible, 400 square metre ‘Skyline Stage’ which will be transformed into a traditional Arabian majlis with Abu Dhabi’s stunning Corniche vistas as the backdrop. The production will deliver full concert sound and include a multi-camera video broadcast of the performance on a 60 sq m video wall suspended above the stage.

Myriam Fares has promised everyone a night to remember. “I’m looking forward to meeting all my fans and sharing the best moments with them in this ‘one of a kind’ evening.”

And Fouad Abdel Wahid, who is best known for hit singles such as ‘Washington, Mafik Heela and Arbaa Wa Eeshreen, says the Jalsah Live audience can expect to hear all their favourite songs – and more.

“We will perform many of our most beautiful songs including some of our newer material. Our fans will not be disappointed.” said the artists.

Tickets for the one-night only performance range from Platinum VIP seating in a hospitality terrace with cinema surround sound at Dh600 ($164) to Gold seating at Dh500 ($137) and Silver at Dh300 ($82), both at floor level. Tickets can be bought online at www.timeouttickets.com or from box offices in Marina Mall Abu Dhabi and Dubai Media City.

“It’s extremely rare to see a ‘Jalsah’ performed live, especially with performances by two such big stars,” commented Mohammed Al Zaabi, of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), which is behind the emirate’s three-week Stopover celebration.

He added: “Add this to the Blue Planet in Concert, which opens the Stopover on December 12 and 13, and we really do have an incredible entertainment line up to get the celebrations off to fabulous start.”

Up to 175,000 people are expected to visit the purpose-built VOR Destination Village on Abu Dhabi Corniche Breakwater for the Stopover celebrations.

The village will open to the public from December 12 until January 3, when the hardy VOR race fleet departs for its next endurance sailing leg to Sanya, China. The Stopover will feature three weeks of sailing action, live concerts, water-sports and family entertainment. – TradeArabia News Service
