UAE-based telecom provider Etisalat has released a new smartphone app that helps customers travelling abroad make discounted international roaming calls for only Dh3 ($0.8) per minute, offering savings of up to 77 per cent.

Customers need to simply download the new Roaming Callback App from Google Play store or Apple App store based on the device and install the app. Customers can start making calls directly through the app, which displays the contact list from the user’s native phonebook. The app will guide the customer step-by-step, making the call back process automatic and easy to use. The app does not require a mobile data connection.

Khaled Elkhouly, chief consumer officer at Etisalat said: “Summer breaks are around the corner and it is time for overseas travel for people in the UAE. At Etisalat, we are continuously exploring how to make our services more user friendly and beneficial, and in this case, especially for those travelling abroad in coming months.”

“Our new Callback App simplifies the process of making a call and therefore makes it much easier for customers to benefit from the highly discounted calling rate of Dh3/min that the callback feature offers. At this rate, it will more than fulfil their desire to stay connected with their friends and family, not just back home or in the country of travel, but also world over. We have seen a very positive response to the callback service and this will only help more customers to reap the benefits,” he added.

Etisalat’s roaming call back service is automatically available for all Etisalat postpaid and prepaid customers and there is no need to opt in for the service, a statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
