Zain Bahrain plans to boost 4G LTE capacity

MANAMA, January 28, 2015

Zain Bahrain has announced a planned network expansion which will increase overall 4G LTE network capacity.

“During the next few days we will be expanding our 4G LTE network capacity by 30 per cent, which will enable us to continue delivering superior quality of service and customer experience for our growing customer base,' said Zain Bahrain network director Hamad Al Rumaihi.

Zain Bahrain launched its new network early last year and is continuing with a modernisation plan which kicked off later last year, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The company said as the network expansion continues, customers may face some intermittent service interruptions.

Meanwhile, in a separate statement, Zain Bahrain said it has become one of the first operators in the Middle East to upgrade to the ISO27001:2013 certification.

The certification was awarded following an audit conducted by an external firm, DNV GL. It confirms the compliance of Zain Bahrain's information security management systems with the requirements of international standards for maintaining information confidentiality, reducing the risk of exploitation, maintaining continual improvement initiatives, and assuring customer satisfaction.

“The ISO certification is a testament to our efforts in applying effective policies and procedures across all our operations, and is an assurance that our operations are managed in accordance with international industry benchmarks,” said Zain Bahrain director of business planning and excellence Esam Zainal. - TradeArabia News Service
