iTECH Gulf 2014: Trend of the Day on Twitter

The recent iTECH Gulf 2014, a major ICT show in Bahrain, was the most talked-about event on the Internet in the GCC on April 10, a report said.
The trending topic on Twitter travelled fast across various platforms as people tweeted, instagrammed and 'selfied' the event on the net, the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication, quoted Eventifier, a leading archive website.
iTECH Gulf 2014 had a large number of contributors, tweets, pictures and blogs trending on April 9 and 10 giving it the highest profile in the region.
"The inaugural iTECH Gulf Forum and Expo proved a must observe event on the net not just in the GCC but globally," iTECH Gulf organiser, Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions (HCE) managing director Jubran Abdulrahman said.
"We have already started planning for the 2015 event. The positive feedback is proving an energising catalyst for 2015."
The campaign on the net was led by 4Spots, a leading online marketing agency.
"iTECH Gulf was for us enjoyable to work on as we were allowed to trial a unique online approach to events in the GCC," 4Spots founder Srusti Ranjan said.
"The use of NFC technology, the Twitter wall and more interactive technological displays all contributed to delivering on HCE's vision to deliver a high-tech, high-content event."
Forum director Ahmed Suleiman said the panels and speeches would be online for the coming 12 months on a dedicated knowledge exchange YouTube page.
"This will ensure that the extensive knowledge base provided by our guest speakers will be available to all for continuous learning and assessment," he added.
According to Gulf Air information technology director Dr Jassim Haji, the event was a vibrant showcase of technology and innovation for IT and ICT professionals.
The airline won the ICT Achievers Award at iTECH Gulf 2014.
"Gulf Air has consistently been at the forefront of introducing several improvements and innovations in our IT operations through the use of the latest and best technology.
"This award is a testament to that commitment and to the dedication and skills held by the national carrier's information technology team," he added.
Jubran Abdulrahman, managing director of Hilal Conferences & Exhibitions (HCE), the organisers of iTECH Gulf 2014, said: “The inaugural iTECH Gulf 2014 Forum and Expo proved to be a “must observe” event on the net, not just in the GCC but globally. We have already started planning for the 2015 event, with the positive feedback generated proving a catalyst."
