A total of 30 students from Elon University in North Carolina, US, visited Intercoil International, a Dubai-based sleep products multinational company.

The visit covering UAE and India was part of Elon University’s Winter Term 2012 Study Abroad course for undergraduate students.

The course, titled ‘Business & Culture of Indo-Gulf’, encompassed fact-finding missions to various industrial units in both countries, meetings with successful businessmen and comparison of business models in Asia vis-à-vis the US.

Dr Neeraj Gupta, assistant professor in the Department of Finance at Elon University, said: “The company is an ideal case study for our students as it represents a successful economic model for small and medium sized projects in this field."

"The specific aim of the programme was to give the students a direct experience of the business environment and the culture in the Middle East," he said.

"The visit was extremely helpful in understanding not only Intercoil’s history and milestones but also their unique management style and heritage," he added – TradeArabia News Service
