Big 5 set to honour sustainable development experts at Egypt expo

The Big 5, a leading event for the regional construction industry, is gearing up for the launch of The Big 5 Egypt Impact Awards, which is set to open in-person this month at the Cairo International Convention Centre alongside its The Big 5 Construct Egypt event.
At its inaugural ceremony, The Big 5 Egypt Impact awards will honour the people, organisations, and projects that are driving sustainable development, innovation, and transformation in Egypt's booming construction industry.
Across 19 categories, the awards will explore Egypt’s most outstanding construction projects and leaders. In addition, they will celebrate young construction professionals in the sector, and feats of inclusion and diversity, innovation and health and safety.
"The project market in Egypt has presented as a top performer in the Mena region despite the Covid-19 impact and the we are excited to recognise the businesses and people behind this outstanding resilience," stated Vice President at dmg events, Muhammed Kazi.
"I am delighted to report that in its first edition The Big 5 Egypt Impact Awards have received entries from over 50 leading architectural, engineering and construction businesses operating across Egypt," he stated.
The project market in Egypt has emerged as a top performer in the Mena region despite the Covid-19 impact and we are excited to recognise the businesses and people behind this outstanding resilience, noted Kazi.

Entries will be examined against individual category criteria by an independent and international panel comprising of 16 industry experts.
Mena Regional Manager at The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Matt Doran said: "Huge congratulations to the finalists of The Big 5 Egypt Impact Awards who have shown great examples of industry collaboration and innovation, with submissions reflecting a strong focus on digitalisation and contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals, in addition to an impressive and diversified portfolio of projects in Egypt.”
Winners of The Big 5 Egypt Impact Awards will be announced during a live ceremony on June 27 at the Cairo International Convention Centre.-TradeArabia News Service
