Bahri wins 3 top Lloyd’s List awards

RIYADH, November 30, 2017

National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri), a leader in logistics and transportation, recently won the ‘Ship Operator Award’ and ‘The Lloyd’s List Intelligence Innovation Award’ at the Lloyd’s List South Asia, Middle East & Africa Awards 2017.

Bahri was also honoured with the ‘Transport Company of the Year Award’ at MEED Awards 2017, said a statement from the company.

Abdulkarim Al Abdulkarim, senior chartering manager, ?Bahri Oil, and Almohaned Alshathre, Bahri’s PR manager, accepted the awards on behalf of Bahri, it said.

The 2017 Lloyd’s List South Asia, Middle East & Africa awards ceremony was held at ?the Palazzo Versace Dubai, while MEED Awards 2017 were held at Conrad Dubai, both in the presence of industry stalwarts, high-profile executives, and maritime sector leaders, it added.

Ali Al Harbi, acting chief executive officer of Bahri, said: “It has been a tremendous year for our company with a number of remarkable achievements and major accomplishments.”

“We are extremely pleased to accept these awards that celebrate the success of regional businesses, workforce culture, innovative practices, and customer service in delivering the ambitious national visions set by the leadership of the GCC states,” he said.

He continued: “We understand that the future of our sector is underpinned by our commitment to anticipating industry trends, and these awards are a positive reinforcement of our approach to embracing a new mindset, which is helping us maximise our performance while enabling us to continue growing and developing our offerings.”

Bahri, offers a full suite of transportation and logistics services through its six business units, namely Bahri Oil, Bahri Logistics, Bahri Chemicals, Bahri Dry Bulk, Bahri Ship Management, and Bahri Data, has reached several milestones over the past year including five additions to its strong fleet of very large crude-oil carriers (VLCCs).

The conglomerate currently owns and manages operates 88 multipurpose vessels, including 41 VLCCs, 36 chemical and product tankers, 6 multipurpose vessels, and 5 dry- bulk carriers, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
