Iran, China to build joint industrial park

TEHRAN, January 11, 2017

Iran and China will together build an industrial park, worth nearly $31 million, in the southern Iranian port city of Jask in Hormuzgan Province, with the aim of further developing energy ties between the two countries, said a report.

The industrial park will be built over an area of 2,000 hectares with the participation of Iran's private sector, Jasem Jaderi, provincial governor general of the Iranian province, was quoted as saying in an Iran Daily News report, citing Irna.

He added that the project will be Iran's first joint industrial park.

Tehran and Beijing have built a partnership centred on China's energy needs and Iran's abundant resources as well as significant non-energy economic ties, arms sales and defence cooperation, added the report.
