Senior Arab officials attend Saudi minerals event

RIYADH, November 22, 2016

Leading Arab ministers in charge of mineral resources, senior officials, experts and leaders of organisations operating in the mining sector today (November 22) attended the opening of the 14th International Arab Mineral Resources Conference in Saudi Arabia.

The event will run until November 24, and is being organised by the Saudi Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources in cooperation with the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (Aidmo).

The event is being held under the auspice of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and under the slogan “The Arab Mineral Wealth…. Strategic resources and promising investment opportunities” in Jeddah.

The three-day conference aims at exchanging knowledge and experience between Arab and foreign experts and Arab and international institutions working in the mining sector and activating the Arab-international cooperation in this field, said a statement from the organisers.

It also aims at discussing the impact of the mineral sector on the economies of Arab countries, the promotion of mining projects, the development of mining legislation and the elimination of obstacles hindering Arab and foreign investments in this sector.

Additionally, on the sidelines of the conference, an exhibition is also organised to showcase latest bodies and Arab and foreign companies operating in the mining industry, investment opportunities in the mining sector and other related opportunities, as well as sustainable development and social responsibility in this sector, innovative solutions, successful Arab experiences and investment prospects, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
