Iran's chemical fertiliser output to rise
Iran fertiliser output to hit record
IRAN, November 3, 2015
Iran is expected to produce record amounts of chemical fertilisers by March 2016, said a senior official from National Petrochemical Company (NPC).
The chemical fertiliser output will rise dramatically as new petrochemical feedstock is expected to be supplied to petrochemical plants from phases 12 and 15-21 of the massive South Pars Gas Field by mid-March 2016, Ali-Mohammad Bosaqzadeh, managing director of NPC, was quoted as saying in an Iran Daily report, citing Fars News Agency.
He said that Iran's chemical fertiliser output grew six per cent year-on-year during March 21-September 22, 2015.
He further noted that during the six months, export of chemical fertilisers grew some 12 per cent year-on-year.
Bosaqzadeh said that urea output is satisfactory and there is no shortage for the item in the domestic market.
Iranian agricultural sector consumes 1.8 million metric tonnes to 2 million tonnes of urea each year, added the report.
