Plastics topped the list of Saudi exports.

Saudi non-oil exports down 19pc in Feb

RIYADH, April 9, 2015

Saudi Arabia's non-oil commodity exports amounted to SR14.207 billion ($3.785 billion) in February 2015, a decline of 19.9 per cent compared to the same period of 2014, government data said.

The kingdom's non-oil imports reached SR48.637 billion ($12.96 billion), up 1.6 per cent compared to the same period of 2014, said a Saudi Press Agency (SPA) report citing Central Department of Statistics and Information (CDSI) data.

Plastics and rubber products topped the list of non-oil commodity exports during February, accounting for 34 per cent of the total (SR4.833 billion), followed by chemical industry products (23.6pc -  SR3.353 billion), and transport equipment (10.97pc - SR1.558 billion).

Machinery, equipment and electrical appliances topped the imports list with a share of 27.73pc amounting to SR13.489 billion; followed by transport equipment (19.46pc -SR9.464 billion); and ordinary metals and their products (10.96pc - SR5.330 billion).

The UAE ranked first in the value of non-oil commodity exports, accounting for 13.01pc share, followed by China (11.09pc) and India (5.14pc).

In terms of imports to the kingdom, China topped the list with 16.68pc share, the US came in the  second place (12.81pc) and Japan came third (5.78pc), said SPA.
