Digital meter factory to be set up in Oman

MUSCAT, March 4, 2015

Shomoukh Company for Investment and Services, the investment arm of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), United Anwar al Majd, one of the incubated companies at the National Business Centre, and Linkwell Telesystems recently signed a contract to set up a manufacturing unit in Oman.

The contract envisages setting up of a factory for digital meters and a device to safeguard and protect electrical networks. The unit will be built in the industrial zones of PEIE and serve the electricity distribution sector in the Sultanate, said a report in Oman Daily Observer.

Shomoukh Investment Services (major investor) will provide technological and technical support for United Anwar al Majd (the developer) for the purpose of developing and manufacturing the devices.

Shomoukh Investment Services will provide technical, logistical, and administrative support, getting the necessary permits and licenses from local authorities to establish a specialised company in this area and the establishment of the factory in the industrial areas.
