Ras Laffan Industrial City wins award

Doha, November 8, 2007

Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLC) won the Best Port Authority Award of the year at the fourth annual Seatrade Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards ceremony in Dubai.

The award was received by RLC port manager Feisal Ahmed Saad on behalf of RLC director Misnad al-Misnad, from Samsara Group president Mukesh Oza in the presence of Seatrade chairman Chris Hayman.

Al-Misnad said the achievement would not have been realised without RLC’s talented and dedicated team. “This is just the beginning and we are currently working towards establishing RLC as the world’s energy capital,” he was quoted as saying by Gulf Times.

RLC is considered one of the world’s largest hydrocarbon export facilities that currently exports 31mtpa (million tons per annum) of LNG.
