Rafed, the new healthcare procurement company created by ADQ, has appointed Rashed Saif Al Qubaisi as its Chief Executive Officer.

Al Qubaisi will lead the development of Rafed’s operations as it seeks to reduce operating costs for healthcare providers and ensure effective procurement and delivery mechanisms by establishing competitive contracts with leading suppliers.

Jaap Kalkman, Chief Investment Officer at ADQ, said: “We are pleased to appoint Rashed Saif Al Qubaisi to this important new role leading Rafed and the development of its long-term, sustainable growth strategy. We will work closely with Rashed and his leadership team to help successfully drive forward a new era in healthcare procurement in the UAE.”

Al Qubaisi said: “Procurement services in the healthcare sector are vital to delivering world class patient care, and I am excited to build a highly specialised group purchasing organisation, under the leadership of ADQ. By centralising services, applying industry best practice, and harnessing technology, Rafed’s unique operating model will deliver economies of scale, efficiency and more competitive pricing while ensuring supply chain security and quality.”

Most recently Al Qubaisi was Deputy Group CEO of SEHA, where he was instrumental in a number of strategic projects.
