Eurofragance launches regional centre at Dubai Science Park

DUBAI, November 18, 2015

Dubai Science Park (DSP), a free zone community dedicated to facilitating and fostering growth of the UAE’s life sciences industry, said Eurofragance, a leading family-owned Fragrance Corporation, has established a world-class creative centre at the business park.

Headquartered in Barcelona, Eurofragance specialises in developing creative fragrances for perfumery, personal care, and household and air fresheners, said a statement.

It has been operating in the Middle East since 1993 and the market now represents more than 70 per cent of its turnover, it said.

In order to forge closer relationships with customers in the Middle East and enable a better understanding of local tastes and trends, Eurofragance has opened a new 1,000-sq-m facility that includes a state of the art laboratory, creative area, evaluation suite in addition to a sales and marketing office.

Announcing Eurofragance as a new business partner at Dubai Science Park is the next example of the concerted effort by the free zone to attract leading science organisations to the UAE in a bid to facilitate synergies that favour innovation and help achieve sustainable economic development.

Dubai Science Park (DSP) is the newly formed life science, new energy and environment business community that represents the realisation of a continued ambition to respond to the evolving needs of the sectors, allowing for increased collaboration.

By welcoming organisations with a strong focus on R&D, such as Eurofragance, DSP is supporting the Government of Dubai’s vision to transform the UAE into an innovation-led economy, developing the region’s talent by stimulating key industries.

Sheikh Zaman, Eurofragance said: “We are very much looking forward to establishing a presence in the Middle East. We have a long history of creating many of the Oriental fragrances that are considered as present day’s classics and best-sellers in the Arabian fragrance industry and by creating a center of excellence in the region, we hope to continue, and indeed develop our success further.

"DSP is the perfect location for us to grow our business as the bespoke facilities have allowed us to be creative and design our facility to exactly fit our needs.”

Marwan Abdulaziz, executive director of Dubai Science Park, said: “We are proud to welcome a major player like Eurofragance to our growing list of world-leading companies. DSP is home to some of the region’s premier science companies due to our world class products, the support we provide in navigating the legal landscape and unrivalled access to the significant market of the Mena region.

“Innovation, with R&D as its core, is the key determinant of growth in many industries. Raising the level of R&D undertaken in the UAE will assist us in providing greater products for our customers. Eurofragance’s new centre ensures that DSP is better placed than ever before to facilitate a high level of innovation to cater for the needs of our sizable population.”

Dubai Science Park supports both SMEs and global firms looking for a regional base for their Middle East operations, by facilitating a custom-built yet vibrant community, said the statement.

With over 280 companies currently located within the community, DSP is committed to the industry’s success by bringing together business, regulators and Government in partnership, it added. - TradeArabia News Service
