Bahrain to cut medicine prices by 50pc

Bahrain will slash prices of hundreds of medicines used for treatment of eye, ear, nose and throat conditions and gynaecology by 50 per cent starting from tomorrow (March 1), said a report.

The new pricing cap represents the seventh phase of a GCC decision to unify cost of medicines, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

Under the new scheme, a total of 538 drugs will be sold at half the price from tomorrow.

The list covers medication prescribed for the treatment of eye, ear, nose and throat conditions, in addition to venereology, obstetrics and gynaecology medicines.-TradeArabia News Service
