Health Ministry and Azimuth officials at the signing

Bahrain’s Health Ministry awards key contract to Azimuth

MANAMA, January 27, 2015

Bahrain’s Health Ministry has signed a contract with Azimuth, a Bahrain-based systems integration company, under which the company will help the ministry raise levels of care and customer satisfaction throughout the kingdom.

The project, delivered in phases over the coming 18 months, will initially provide a new biomedical engineering solution, based on Infor's Enterprise Asset Management system, for managing more than 150,000 items of medical equipment distributed across all public hospitals and medical centres in the kingdom supported by mobile devices from Unitech, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

This will be followed by the implementation of a new wireless LAN, from Cisco, and real-time location system, from Ekahau, that will provide equipment tracking, staff security and patient safety services for Salmaniya Medical Complex, the largest hospital in the Middle East.

Both systems will be integrated by Azimuth's Symphony solution to enable automated business rules and alerting for senior staff and healthcare professionals, assisting them in the provision of care and the management of healthcare facilities and equipment. - TradeArabia News Service
