New medical centre opens in Amwaj

Manama, January 23, 2014

A new medical centre was officially opened in Amwaj Islands yesterday (January 22).

American Mission Hospital's (AMH) Medical Centre and Wellness Clinic was opened by His Majesty King Hamad's Personal Representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa during a special ceremony, said a report in the Gulf Dailly News (GDN), our sister publication.

Witnessed by more than 300 guests including government officials, ministers, diplomats and hospital board members, Shaikh Abdulla joined AMH chief executive Dr George Cheriyan in unveiling a commemorative plaque and cutting the ribbon.

"American Mission Hospital has a 110-year history in Bahrain and we are grateful for the continued support of His Majesty and to the people of Bahrain for their unwavering support," said Dr Cheriyan.

"With this new clinic, we strive to meet the healthcare needs of the people close to where they live, not only for today, but for the future."

A range of services from urgent care and obstetrics to weight reduction and dietary consultation will be offered at the centre.

The clinic, which will be open from 8am to 8pm seven days a week, will also offer a free screening package to new adult patients who register.

Patients have until the end of February to sign up to the clinic to receive the package, which is being sponsored by Samsung MedicalLine. - TradeArabia News Service
