Gomycode to set up first Middle East presence in Manama
MANAMA, December 23, 2020
The Tunisian startup specialising in Ed-Tech, Gomycode, a Flat6Labs graduate, announces the opening of a Hackerspace in Manama, Bahrain as part of its continuing geographic expansion.
Launched in 2017 by Yahya and Amine Bouhlel, Gomycode now has more than 80 talents with
diverse profiles among its employees and a network of over 100 trainers across the Hackerspaces of Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt and now Bahrain.
Through an educational platform forming the next generation of technological and digital profiles and connecting them with the companies that build the world of tomorrow, Gomycode aims to become one of the largest developer communities in Africa and the Middle East.
This platform gives students and teachers the best digital tools for training, content creation, skills management, technical evaluation and matching with companies. Hence, making it possible to quickly create training programmes, independently on a wide range of skills, thus offering great flexibility to its students.
Based on a blended learning model, between a physical presence within Gomycode’s Hackerspaces and online learning, Gomycode is aiming to have a strong impact in terms of talent training and ease its integration to a digitised job market and economy.
Over the past three years, Gomycode’s vision was able to conduct the training of over 4,000 students who were able to acquire new skills, pioneering bright and promising professional horizons for them.
Rethinking education, the Gomycode’s model aims to be the school of the 21st century providing all the required training in web development, video game development, artificial intelligence, data science, design, digital marketing and business Intelligence.
A compact and highly-connected ecosystem brings together a diverse range of IT companies in Bahrain within the areas of IT services, IT distribution, IT consultancy, data management systems, software developers and customer support centres. Ranked the first in Mena for ICT readiness by the World Economic Forum, Bahrain offers the most competitive and affordable ICT services in the region.
“Bahrain will proudly be the first home of this creative space in the Middle East region that can be used as a catalyst to shape the next generation for the future of work that requires a data-driven approach,” said Maryam Alsaegh, Bahrain’s Country Launcher at Gomycode.
“We are excited to see one of our regional portfolio companies scale into the Bahrain market and play a beneficial role in filling a much-needed skill gap by training local talent to become software developers. This will strengthen the growth of our kingdom’s startup ecosystem and we look forward to being a continual part of Gomycode’s journey” Said Saleh Abbas, Senior Programme Manager at Flat6Labs Bahrain.-- Tradearabia News Service
