Bahrain to implement school buildings plan

MANAMA, August 28, 2019

Bahrain will implement a plan prepared by competent government authorities on the kingdom's need for schools and academic buildings for the next 10 years in light of expanding urbanisation and population growth.

Deputy Premier and President of the Supreme Council for the Development of Education and Training Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak was briefed on the report by Education Minister Majed bin Ali Al Nuaimi, undersecretary for Resources and Services Mohammed Mubarak Juma, and acting undersecretary at the Ministry of Works, Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning for Work Affairs, a Bahrain News Agency report said.

The report highlighted the current situation of some Ministry of Education schools that required the evacuation of students and designing alternative plans to accommodate them.

The report also dealt with the maintenance required for schools and academic buildings in addition to the need of new schools and academic buildings in various governorates.

Shaikh Mohammed gave directives to the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Works, Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning for the application of the plan in coordination with competent authorities.
