Unilever launches child scholarship contest

DUBAI, October 4, 2014

Unilever, one of the world’s leading suppliers of fast moving consumer goods, has launched an exclusive child scholarship competition in partnership with retail giant Carrefour.

The scholarship competition, being introduced through Unilever's leading fabric cleaning brand OMO, will be held till October 11 across all Carrefour Hypermarkets in the UAE.

It offers consumers the chance to win five scholarships each worth Dh10,000 ($2,720) for their kids in elementary and middle schools.

"OMO embodies values which are universal to mums around the world. Those values include confidence, sharing and giving, self reliance, responsibility and determination," remarked Madhusudhan Rao, the marketing vice president, Unilever Middle East and North Africa.

According to hinm, experiential learning was critical for child development. "We only retain 10 per cent of what we read, 20 per cent of what we hear but 90 per cent of what we see, hear, say and do. And what better way to experience all those values and ensure our children’s proper education is through securing good schools and study programs for our family," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
