Dubai, October 1, 2008

Gulf Educational Supplies and Solutions (GESS), along with two of its exhibitors, Al Mazroui and Kit for Kids recently donated a selection of educational aids to the Umm Sinan School in Fujairah.

GESS is the region's premier educational, supplies and solutions event and Al Mazroui and Kit for Kids, two of the leading educational supply companies in the region.

The donation was coordinated by Fairs & Exhibitions, the organisers of GESS, who donated a selection of computer equipment for the students in Umm Sinan School.

'As the organisers of GESS, we believe that holding a business to business exhibition should not only be about connecting educational buyers and suppliers to education institutions but we should also be part of the educational development drive in the region.

'We have found that the suppliers who will exhibit at GESS in March 2009 are extraordinarily committed to doing whatever they can to ensure that students in the Middle East have access to the best learning environment possible,' said Sue Rothwell, group event director, Fairs & Exhibitions.

Dubai-based company Al Mazroui donated a selection of hands-on math and science kits to the school which it has been supplying to schools throughout the UAE for the past three years. The kits are specially designed to meet the Ministry of Education’s new curriculum requirements.

“The UAE Ministry of Education is always looking for the very best educational methods available which requires the best possible educational resources to enhance student hands-on practice,' said Mustafa Zidan, Al Mazroui's Educational Division-in-Charge.

British based Kit for Kids donated a selection of Play and Learn products to the school, including a large Multi-Cultural carpet designed to assist children to develop their cultural awareness.

Also donated were Emotion floor cushions large Alpha Tiles which are the perfect fun tools to introduce the English Alphabet and themed soft seating ideal for creating a group reading area.

“The Middle East is a brand new market for us this year and the region has quickly become an integral part of our future business plans,” said Graham Campbell, sales director, Kit for Kids.

'We decided to make the donation not only to show our continued commitment to the region but to also support local communities, in which we are trading, something which is a fundamental part of the Kit for Kids philosophy.'

The Principal of Umm Sinan School, Khaseeba Ali Salem, said: “We would like to express our gratitude to GESS, Kit for Kids and Al Mazroui for their generous donation. This range of products will really make a difference to our school in providing a positive learning environment.”

GESS organisers also received support from Airlink Worldwide who donated their time and resource in freighting and delivering the equipment.

GESS 2009 will run from March 10 to 12, 2009 in conjunction with the Global Education Forum at the Airport Expo Centre. - TradeArabia News Service
