Qatar Nov money supply growth slows to 13pc

Money supply (M2) in Qatar grew by 12.7 per cent year-on-year at the end of November, after a 18.9 per cent rise in the previous month, the Gulf country's central bank data showed on Sunday.

Bank lending to the private sector jumped by 22.3 per cent on an annual basis in November, the fastest pace in 30 months, after an 18 per cent rise in the previous month, the data also showed.

According to experts, the country's money supply had seen growth rates of around 60 per cent in  2008 when inflation climbed to record, double-digit highs in Qatar.-Reuters
