Construction of the circuit will be implemented according to best local and international standards, where local stones will be used to build the surface of the circuit, reported SPA.

The foundation stone was laid on the Jeddah Corniche in the presence of Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al Abdullah Al Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, and other members of the federation.

The later construction stages will take into consideration healthy environmental aspects that aim later at promoting sustainability messages while holding the race, such as non-mineral products and products of the waste used while establishing the road, stated the report.

The 6,175-m-long track will host the penultimate race on the Formula One season calendar - Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, it added.
