SHARJAH, July 12, 2020

The Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) has announced the completion of the connection and operation of electricity for 135 residential buildings in the city of Sharjah within just 15 days.

Dr Rashid Al Leem, Chairman of Sewa, has expressed the authority’s keenness to develop its procedures and provide the best services with high efficiency, reported state-run news agency Wam.

He has highlighted the danger of random electrical connections, stressing on the necessity of communicating with the Authority before installing any connection.

Al Leem stressed that the commission continues with the awareness and inspection campaigns that aim to protect and provide security, safety, education and awareness on the importance of correcting the situation to avoid any dangers, fires and catastrophic damage and the effects that they have on individuals, the public and private properties.

Amna Al Zari indicated that various channels had been provided to submit the delivery request, which included reviewing the commercial office or communicating through WhatsApp or by e-mail, contributing to increasing the number of requests received by the commercial office.

She added that the documents required to deliver electricity to the existing annexes include copies of the identity card, land map, and the title deed, and a copy of the "sketch" from the municipality.
