$220m Abu Dhabi Police buildings project on track

Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) said work was progressing as per schedule on the Abu Dhabi Police Buildings Infrastructure project being implemented at a cost of Dh808 million ($220 million).
 
The major project that will see the construction or upgradation of 15 civil defence buildings in the UAE capital as part of Abu Dhabi Police's network expansion plans.

This includes construction of three civil defence centres and three police stations besides the upgrade of Al Wathba Prison, said the statement from Musanada.

All these buildings will meet international modern building standards in terms of 'smart' criteria, being environment-friendly and energy-saving, it stated.

Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (ADP) said the plans are part of efforts to provide high quality infrastructure that meets the needs of the public, help improve performance, and enhance safety and security in the community.

The new buildings will provide an "appropriate environment for employees that promotes creativity and excellence," and that "sustainable applications through thermally-insolated, easy to cool buildings" will be deployed to reduce energy consumption and provide natural ventilation and lighting, it stated.

One of the major projects is the construction of the Al Falah Police Station at a cost of Dh34.4 million. Work on the 6,000-sq-m station is progressing well and is now 83 per cent complete, said Musanada in its statement.

Al Mirfa Police Station, which will come up on a 7,525-sq-m area, is 99 per cent complete, while Al Saadiyat Police Station is almost ready, it added.

Musanada is also building civil defence centres at the Al Falah region at an estimated cost of Dh20.1 million, and another at Qasr Al Bahar and Al Tawayya, respectively.

Having completed all associated works, Emirati firm said it has handed over the Abu Dhabi Central Morgue project, said the Abu Dhabi firm.

Work is moving at a steady pace on the Dh163-million Al Wathba Prison project, spanning an area of 23,000 sq m, with Phase One work currently standing at 39 per cent completion, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
